Hoosier National Forest is a 203,000 acre forest managed US Forest Service. The Forest Service office, located in Bedford, provides information about the forest area and tags for those wanting to ride horses and mountain bikes. With a large section of the Hoosier National forest running through the county, there is oppurtunities to be outside any time of the year.
Spring Mill State Park is a beautiful, historic area famous for it's glorious fall color, virgin timbers, flowing cave springs, and rolling terrain. It's a great place for year-round hiking, camping, swimming, boating and fishing.
Monroe Lake, also a remarkably scenic area, is a great place for watersports and hiking. Our seven community parks offer swimming, tennis, playgrounds, picnic facilities, and youth activities.
